Albemarle man charged with felony indecent liberties with a child

A 72-year-old Albemarle man was arrested on a charge of felony indecent liberties with a child. 

“On January 4, 2024, members of the Aberdeen Police Department’s Investigation Division began an investigation in Aberdeen after a report of possible sexual assault to a juvenile,” said the Aberdeen Police Department in a press release.

The investigation division “identified Bill Bowman as the defendant.”

He was placed at the Stanly County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.

The suspect is due in Moore County district court on Jan. 24.

No other details were released.

Defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
