Arrests made in Aberdeen home invasion homicide

Law enforcement arrested several people in connection to an Aberdeen home invasion where a woman was murdered, and a suspect was shot and killed, according to a press release by Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields.

Officials responded to a shooting on Forest Circle in the Sherwood Park subdivision Sunday afternoon where they found Tynasha Collins, 23, who had been shot in her home. The shooters fled the scene.

“Sheriff’s investigators determined that an exchange of gunfire occurred within the residence between the perpetrators and home occupants,” said Fields. “17-year-old Darius Nicholson of Richmond County, believed to be one of the perpetrators, was also shot during the incident. Nicholson was transported to Moore Regional Hospital by private vehicle where he later died from his injuries.”
