Two people were injured in a Thursday evening collision on U.S. Highway 15-501 in Aberdeen. The collision happened near the Center Park Shopping Center by Going, Going, Gone, and was the third collision on 15-501 that Sandhills Sentinel covered in one evening.Â
According to authorities on scene, a Toyota sedan traveling southbound collided with a Chevrolet Camaro that crossed into its path. The Toyota struck the driver’s side of the Camaro, leaving both vehicles with significant damage. They remained in the roadway following the crash, resulting in significant delays in traffic.Â
Both drivers were evaluated at the scene by Moore County EMS and transported to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, but their current conditions are unknown.
The Aberdeen Police Department is investigating the cause of the accident.
Responding to the scene were Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, the Aberdeen Police Department, and the Southern Pines Police Department.
