Boys and Girls Club hold ribbon cutting at new SCC facility

The Boys & Girls Club of the Sandhills (BGCS) held an open house Tuesday, along with Sandhills Community College (SCC) and the Moore County Chamber of Commerce.

It was a great day for over 100 members, parents, board members, staff, and community members to support this new facility.

BGCS CEO Steve Kastner, SCC President and CEO Dr. Alexander Sandy Stewart, BGCS Board Vice-Chair Vinette Gordon, BGCS Director of Operations Deon Allbrooks, BGCS at SCC Unit Director Edith Ann Jackson, and President and CEO Moore County Chamber of Commerce Linda Parsons opened the ceremony.

SCC unit members performed a Jumanji-inspired play for everyone. As the fourth BGCS, the club has been active on campus for a year; however, SCC recently created a larger space for BGCS in Kennedy Hall.

Fall after-school registration is underway at Fall Registration — Boys & Girls Club of the Sandhills (sandhillsbgc.org).
