A brush fire that grew out of control spread to an abandoned house in Robbins on Sunday. The fire broke out just before 1 p.m., drawing a response from multiple fire departments from surrounding areas.
Fire crews from Robbins, High Falls, Carthage, and Westmoore worked to contain the flames at the intersection of Gardenia Road and the Hemp Street extension, preventing further spread into the neighborhood.
Authorities told Sandhills Sentinel that no one was injured or in the house at the time of the fire. Witnesses reported that this is the second time the house has caught fire.
The cause remains under investigation.
The Moore County Sheriff’s Department and Moore County EMS also responded to the scene.
