Moore County Board of Commissioners released their June 5th meeting highlights.

~ As EMWD Board, approved minutes, budget amendments, received FY19 recommended EMWD
budget, and called a public hearing regarding FY19 EMWD budget on June 5, 2018 at 5:00pm.

~ Approved fee agreement with law firm to join multi‐district litigation against opioid
manufacturers and tabled resolution declaring the opioid crisis a public nuisance in Moore
County.

~ Recognized Moore County Health Department for achievement of reaccreditation designation.

~ Proclaimed May 13 through June 17 as Vulnerable Adult and Elder Abuse Awareness Month in
Moore County.

~ Received County Manager’s FY19 recommended budget.

~ Received quarterly fiscal report for Sandhills Center for Mental Health/Developmental
Disabilities/Substance Abuse Services.

~ Approved on consent agenda:  minutes, budget amendments, County Facilities Expansion
Capital Project Ordinance Revision 8, bad debt write off FY 17‐18, addendum to MCTS System
Safety Plan, MOU between Aging and MCTS, MOU between St. Joseph of the Pines – Trinity
Senior Community and MCTS, cost allocation plan for Community Development Division of
Planning Dept., contract for school nurse funding initiative FY19, resolution approving sale of
LRK54820, resolution approving sale of LRK54821, deed of dedication for Bibey Road waterline
extension, deed of dedication for Fox Grove, workers compensation and liability and property
proposals with NCACC risk management pool, amendment to the administrative services and
stop loss insurance agreement with First Carolina Care, Good Agricultural Practices (GAP)
certification assistance modification.

~Held a public hearing and approved adding four new roads to the Moore County Road Name
and Addressing Ordinance.

~Called a public hearing on June 19, 2018 at 5:30pm regarding the FY19 recommended budget.

~ Approved addition of two roads to the State maintenance system.

~ Approved contracts with Cooper Ford and Ilderton Dodge Chrysler Jeep for the purchase of 4
vehicles.

~ Adopted resolution declaring the result of the bond referendum and directing the publication of
the statement of the results, and recognized bond campaign volunteers.

~ Approved Board of Education request for funding of $1,033,000 for the design of Phase 1A
additions and renovations to North Moore HS, and the site investigation activities.

~ Adopted resolution amending/delaying the annual funding formula for Moore County Schools
for FY19.

~ Reappointed Joseph Clendenin to the Sandhills Community College Board of Trustees.

~ Reappointed Bonnie McPeake and Tom Beddow to the CVB Board.

~ Reappointed Rhonda Olinger to the HR Appeals Committee.

~ Reappointed Mary Spell to the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council.

~ Reappointed Debra Ensminger to the Local Emergency Planning Committee.

~ Reappointed Vallerie Murphy to the Nursing/Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee.

~ Reappointed John Matthews to the Planning Board and reappointed Eddie Nobles as Chairman.

~ Reappointed Bryan Phillips and appointed Bob Huber to the Transportation Advisory Board.

~ Reappointed Pat Corso to the Workforce Development Board.
