Antisemitic signs removed from bridges in Vass, Cameron

A death investigation is underway after a body was found in Carthage on Wednesday, according to Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields in a news advisory. 

A report came into the sheriff’s office just before 11 a.m. of a body found in the woods along Highway 24/27.

Authorities identified the body as Jonathan Jernigan, 35, of Seagrove.

“An investigation into the death is ongoing,” said Fields. “The decedent has been sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Raleigh for an autopsy to assist in identifying a cause of death.
