Deputies make drug arrest following traffic stop

Deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Department arrested a 53-year-old Pinebluff man on drug charges, according to Moore County Sherriff Ronnie Fields in a news release.

Deputies pulled over Carlos Williams during a traffic stop on Wednesday, June 8 in the 4700 block of Highway 1 in Vass.

“During the traffic stop, deputies conducted a search of the vehicle which resulted in them locating cocaine, marijuana, and items of drug paraphernalia,” said Fields.

Williams was taken to the Moore County Detention Center. He was released on a $7,500 unsecured bond. 

He was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, felony possession of schedule II-controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining vehicle/dwell/place to keep a controlled substance, possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. 

The suspect is due in court on July 28 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
