One person was left in serious condition and three others were transported after a multi-vehicle crash in Pinebluff on Saturday morning. Two infants were among those transported.
The crash occurred at the intersection of U.S. 1 South and Addor Road around 10:30 a.m. According to authorities on scene, the collision reportedly happened when a Honda SUV crossed into the path of a southbound tractor-trailer.
The force of the impact caused significant damage to the SUV and broke one of the tractor-trailer’s rear axles.
A passenger of the SUV sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital by EMS. Due to weather conditions, air transport was unavailable. The SUV’s driver and two infant passengers in the backseat were also transported with non-life-threatening injuries.
A copy of the Bible on the dashboard was mostly unscathed while other items on the dashboard and in the vehicle were destroyed.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the incident.
The Pinebluff Fire & Rescue, Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County Sheriff’s Department, and North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the scene.
