FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital will conduct an active shooter training drill on Thursday, Aug. 18. Although hospital services should not be interrupted by the training exercises, staff will be on hand to respond to questions and to reassure patients and visitors that there is no actual emergency.
The training exercise will focus on patient and staff safety, communication and response.
“This drill is an opportunity for us to practice and improve our readiness and response should an actual event occur,” said Steve Gunsallus, director of security for FirstHealth of the Carolinas. “We take these drills very seriously, and we appreciate the engagement of our staff and local law enforcement and emergency first responders to plan and train together.”
