A man was airlifted to a hospital after sustaining injuries when his motorcycle was hit by a vehicle Friday afternoon.

The accident happened just after 1:00 pm in front of Cox’s Double Eagle Harley-Davidson dealership on 15-501 in Eastwood.  The victim is an employee at the dealership and was turning into the parking lot when he was hit from behind by the Chevy HHR.  It is reported the victim was thrown 75 feet from his motorcycle from the impact.

Moore County Sheriff’s Department closed both lanes on 15-501 and diverted traffic onto Lee Road.

Responding to the scene were the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, Moore County EMS, Highway Patrol, Eastwood Fire Department, and the Pinehurst Fire Department.

There were no other injuries reported from the accident.
