On Tuesday, Sept. 14, the Pinehurst Police Department re-arrested Jason Townley on one count of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, according to a news release from the Village.
Townley, age 57, of Gingham Lane, was previously arrested on May 14 and charged with 12 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He was released from the Moore County Detention Center shortly after on a $150,000 bond while the investigation continued.
Townley was again taken into custody without incident and is currently in the Moore County Detention Center.
“Our investigators found additional evidence after a forensic analysis of Townley’s computer that was seized during his first arrest,” said Police Chief Glen Webb. “We will continue to turn over every stone and investigate every tip in this case, even if the victims are not members of our community.”
This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Pinehurst Police Department’s tip line (910) 420-1654.
