Fleta Sanders Ritter, age 93 passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018 one day before her 94th birthday.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Smyrna United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. David Woodhouse. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church beginning at 1:00 PM.

A native of Randolph County. she was the third of fourteen children born to Herbert Colvin and Martha Blanche Chrisco Sanders. During WWII she worked at the Robbins Mill along with many other women. She later farmed and raised chicken along with her husband, the late Fletcher Ritter. Fleta was a master gardener and was well known for her beautiful roses and peonies.

She is survived by her son W.C. Ritter and wife Patricia of Robbins; sisters Lucy Hunt of Asheboro and Geneva Cervantes of Troy; brothers Fred and J.C. Sanders both of Seagrove; grandchildren Amanda Flanagan and husband Nick of Kernersville, Steven Ritter of Carthage and Jonathan Ritter of Robbins; great-grandchildren Nathan and Sarah Flanagan and Fletcher, Peyton and Maggie Ritter.

The Ritter family would like to thank  Danielle and Pamela of Pruitt Hospice for the care and compassion shown to their mother and an extra special thanks to her sitters, Inez Deaton and Sherri Maness who were devoted caregivers.
