Amanda Vivian (Kelley) Sellars, 43, devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend passed away on December 29, 2018 at home in Vass, North Carolina, surrounded in love by her family. She was born on December 17, 1975 in Cortland, New York, to Jack and Suzanne Kelley.
Despite being diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in 2010 and Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC) in 2013, Amanda lived her life with passion, good humor, grace, and a positive outlook. Her beautiful smile was infectious and her kindness, compassion and determined spirit made a lasting impression on everyone who met her.
Amanda loved volunteering at her children’s school, spending time with her East coast Kelley family and West coast Sellars family, reading, and Bible study. She was a history buff, an excellent photographer, and an accomplished scuba diver. She was sweet and funny and the heart of her home.
Amanda is survived by her husband Steve; beloved sons Aiden and Asher; grandmother Carlene Kelley of Cortland, NY; parents Jack and Suzanne Kelley of Cortland, NY; two sisters, Polly Kelley and Katie (Brian) Griffin of Cortland, NY; one brother, Jack (Melissa) Kelley of Collierville, TN; and many treasured aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Amanda’s life will be held 23 March, in Southern Pines, NC and her interment will be held 22 June, in Cortland, NY. All dates are tentative at this time. Final details will be announced at a later date.
