Obituary for Dallas Richard Childress of Cameron

Dallas Richard Childress, 24 of Cameron, NC passed away January 7, 2022. He was born in Pinehurst, NC on February 4, 1997 to Bryant Childress and Shannon James.

Dallas was head-strong, supportive, caring, loyal, and big hearted soul. He always made sure that everything was taken care of. Dallas enjoyed standing side by side painting with his dad, work or not. He enjoyed having cookouts over at his dad’s house, with all his friends and family cooking together. Dallas was always told he was a mommy’s boy, and a smile just appeared, he knew he was. He spent almost every weekend with his brother. Any chance he could get a round of golf in, Brian was always the first one that he asked, he enjoyed golfing with his brothers Nick and Cody. Dallas picked on Cassie, constantly picking on him back as well. He made sure he was the only one who could though, nobody could pick on her but him. Dallas was a big family man, anybody who knew him as a daddy, knew he had such a soft spot for his boys. He enjoyed cooking with his wife at home, and grew to be the best husband, and father. He wanted nothing more than to coach his sons, and live on the sports that he grew up doing with his childhood best friend Steven Queen coaching together. From growing up with basketball, football, baseball, to cornhole, he always wanted to share the love of sports with them. Dallas would want us to remember him by all the good times, remember his laughter, his energetic sports loving passion, and the great father he was to his two boys.

Dallas is survived by his wife, Hayden (Ball) Childress; son, Ryder Childress; son, Preston Childress (mother, Abby Jorinscay and her daughter, Paisley Jorinscay); mother, Shannon (Douglas) James and her husband, Brian James; father, Bryant Childress and step-mom Monica Bliss; brothers, Nick Childress, Cody (Lexi) James, Brian (Marissa) James, Christopher and Daniel Smith; sister, Cassie James; maternal grandparents.
