Obituary for Dexter Bennie Lambert of Robbins

Mr. Dexter Bennie Lambert of Robbins went to his heavenly home on March 9, 2023. He was 91 years old and the last child of Eli Walter Lambert and Laura (Kennedy) Lambert.

Dexter was born August 19, 1931, and lived his entire life in Robbins. He worked in textile mills in both Robbins and Siler City. He was also a poultry grower and farmer. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and shared its bounty with family and friends. Following retirement, he worked with Moore County Solid Waste and Recycling. There he enjoyed renewing old friendships and making new ones.

Dexter was a lifelong member of Acorn Ridge Baptist Church. Brought to church as a child, he was later saved and served the Lord in many ministries as long as he was physically able. Dexter was a simple, humble, and caring man who was always grateful for whatever he had.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mozelle Williams Lambert. He is survived by his children: daughter, Linda Lambert Williamson and husband, Pastor John Williamson of Robbins and his son, Gary Dexter Lambert and wife Jan (Ritter) Lambert, also of Robbins.

Dexter was proud and thankful for his grandchildren: Jonathan Williamson, Timothy Williamson and wife Heather, Aaron Lambert, Michael Williamson, and Laura Jordan and husband Tyler. He found special blessings in his three great- grandchildren, Tyler Williamson, Sarah Williamson, and Maggie Williamson. He will be greatly missed by his little dog, Millie.

Funeral service will be 11 AM, Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Acorn Ridge Baptist Church, with Dr. John Williamson and Reverend Ronald McNeil officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family would like to thank Lauren, Emily and Neil of FirstHealth Hospice for the love and care they showed Mr. Lambert, his last nine months.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Health Hospice. 251 Campground Rd. West End, NC 27376.

Kennedy Funeral Home is serving the Lambert family.
