Jonas (Joe) Frank Davis, Jr. 95, passed away on June 26, 2018.
Born on April 9, 1923 to the late Jonas Davis, Sr. and Marguerite Peltier Davis in Danville, VA. He proudly served in the United States Army for 20 years serving in both WWII and Korea and receiving a Purple Heart. After retiring from the Army, he continued to serve on the Southern Pines Police Department for 19 years.
Joe was preceded in death by his four siblings, Morris Davis, Ebner Davis, Eddie Davis, and VirginiaMatchunk.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Edith Stephenson Davis; his son Edward Davis and wife, Debora Davis; grandchildren, Jason Davis and wife, Dianna Davis, and Timothy Davis; and great-grandchildren, Joseph and Isabel Davis.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 2:30-3:00 p.m. at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. with burial following at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
