Ronald (Ronnie) Bruce Wiles, 85, of Pinehurst, NC passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023, at his home, peacefully and surrounded by family.
He courageously fought a 21-month battle with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia).
He was preceded in death by his parents Lester Bruce and Beatrice Hardy Wiles of Ringgold, VA.
Ronnie is survived by his brother Bobby (Virginia Wiles), his daughter Susan Bergelt and sons Stephen (Leslie) and Scott Wiles.
He is grandfather to Erica Bergelt, Alexandria, Raleigh and Cody Wiles and Uncle to Richard (Carol) Wiles, Robert (Susan) Wiles and Ruth Anne (Brian) Poteat.
Ronnie was born May 2, 1938, in Danville, Va. He graduated from from Virginia Tech in 1960 with a BS degree in accounting.
He began his professional career with Smith Douglas Fertilizer (a division of Borden Chemicals) in Norfolk, VA.
Ronnie enjoyed a 38-year career with Borden, achieving a position of CFO of Borden Chemical Division.
Ronnie retired to Pinehurst 24 years ago. He loved the community, lifestyle and mostly the great friendships he developed both on and off the golf course.
The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM Friday, October 27 at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines.
The family will also receive friends at his residence following their time at the funeral home.
