Teresa Kay Hancock, 55, of Carthage NC passed away Friday, December 27th surrounded by her friends and family after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Visitation will be at Boles Funeral Home in Seven Lakes on Monday, December 30th from 5:30 to 9:00 pm with funeral services at Browns Chapel Christian Church Tuesday December 31st at 2:00 pm.  There will be a one hour viewing prior to the funeral services. Family will receive friends at her mother’s home in Robbins.

Teresa was the daughter of Wilton and Norene Hancock. Teresa had an extensive work family at First Health of the Carolinas in Pinehurst where she worked in the operating room as a Surgical Technologist for 34 years. In her 55 years Teresa enjoyed traveling, she particularly enjoyed spending time in the mountains where she felt at peace.  Teresa enjoyed  gardening, spending time with friends and family, her dogs Quaker and Boo Boo and spoiling her only grandson, Wyatt. 

Teresa was preceded in death by her father Wilton Hancock. She is survived by her daughter Amber Schofield, husband Drew, grandson Wyatt of Vass, NC; mother, Norene Hancock; sisters: Tina Hussey (Larry), Tammy Barnett (Mark) and Torrie Furr (James) all of Robbins.  Nephews and nieces: Brandon McNeil, Jeremy Hussey, Ethan Galloway, Caleb Galloway, Natalie Furr and Elliott Furr. She was preceded in death by her father, Wilton Hancock.

Teresa was loved by many and best known for her caring and generous nature, a great sense of humor, devotion to her family and a hard worker. The family wishes to thank all of Teresa’s work family, friends, First Health Hospice, and the community that supported Teresa through her journey.
