We are sad to share that William (Bill) Kenneth Schrum passed away in North Carolina on June 17, 2026. Born on September 11, 1955, in Neptune, New Jersey, Bill grew up at the beach in Belmar, graduating from Belmar Elementary School (1969) and Manasquan High School (1973). He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Bryant University in 1977 and subsequently pursued a career in finance in the New York City metropolitan area.
Bill moved to Pinebluff, North Carolina, in 2000, where he greatly enjoyed the warm weather, and he continued his career in finance. For the last decade of his career, he served as the Finance Director at Operation Insasmuch, Fayetteville, a nonprofit organization which offers food and services to the homeless.
Bill was a soft-spoken and gentle man with a wonderful sense of humor. He loved his family, the beach, his pets, Sunday football, the Miami Dolphins, and listening to really loud music. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Alice Schrum. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Sarah Jane Schrum, his dear friend, Melissa Schrum, his siblings, Betty-Jane (BJ) (Dave) Jones, Robert (Bob) (Karen) Schrum, and Pamela (Gus) Fingado, and many nieces and nephews.
