Rosetta C. MacDougall, age 84, of Seven Lakes passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018.

Rose was born in Kents Store, Va. on September 23, 1933 to Alitha G. and Emiel J. Cosner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. MacDougall, 4 sisters, 1 brother, and 1 grandson, James R. Greene. She is survived by daughters Robin G. Greene (Jim) of Harrisburg, Pa. and Lisa G. MacDougall (Joe) of Seven Lakes; grandsons Derick Johnson (Ashley) and Phillip Greene (Emily); granddaughters Melissa Mills (Daniel) and Brooklyn Bernado (Brittany); great-granddaughters Angel Mills, Danielle Mills, Amanda Mills and Katelynn Johnson, and great-grandson Caleb Johnson.

Rose retired from the Federal Government with over 30 years of service. She began her career in Washington, DC, working at the Social Security Administration and Pentagon. She followed her husband Mac’s Navy career, moving the family several times until his retirement. She continued her clerical career at Bainbridge Naval Station, New Cumberland Army Depot, and at Ft. Bragg as a supervisor. Later, she worked as a secretary at Ron Kirby Construction Company, Inc.

After retirement Rose enjoyed working part-time, traveling with Mac, reading her romance novels and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially at Seven Lakes.

She was a member of Seven Lakes Baptist Church.

A visitation will be held 6 to 8 PM Monday, January 8, 2018 at the Boles Funeral Home in Seven Lakes. Funeral Services will be held 1 PM Tuesday, January 9, 2018 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Seven Lakes Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Association at 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215
