One transported to hospital after rollover crash in Vass

One person was transported to the hospital after a rollover crash just outside of Vass on Thursday night. The single-vehicle crash occurred in a curve in the 800 block of White Rock Road around 7:30 p.m.

According to officials on the scene, a BMW passenger car was traveling along White Rock Road just outside Vass city limits at a high rate of speed when it left the roadway. The car went airborne over a ditch before crashing into a tree and overturning.

The car sustained heavy damage and was found on its roof in the roadway when emergency units arrived.

One of the two occupants was transported to Moore Regional Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, while the other occupant was not injured.

White Rock Road was shut down for over an hour as crews worked the scene and removed the car.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

Responding to the scene were Cypress Pointe Fire Department, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff’s Office, and N.C. Highway Patrol.
