UPDATE: The suspect was captured and arrested on Jan. 26.

The Pinehurst Police Department is seeking a suspect “who walked away from Moore Regional Hospital where he was receiving treatment” on Jan. 15. The department announced on The Village of Pinehurst’s social media page that Robert Conley Fowler, Jr. may have been seen Monday walking in the area of Page Road.

Fowler was in the process of being served with an arrest warrant at the hospital; however, he was not in police custody while he was receiving treatment.

Residents are warning neighbors that the suspect has broken into area vehicles, homes, and has been hiding in crawl spaces. According to Pinehurst Police Chief Glen Webb, the department has obtained new warrants for breaking and entering.

Information from North Carolina Department of Public Safety shows Fowler was last convicted in 2015 for obtaining property by false pretense and was incarcerated for 3 years and 9 months.

Authorities said he is 5’11” and has a slim build.
