A man was seriously injured in a rollover crash in Aberdeen on Sunday. The crash occurred on Roseland Road near Blackbird Lane at 1 a.m.
A Lincoln sedan was heading west on Roseland Road when the driver lost control. The car crossed the centerline and slid sideways off the road slamming into a telephone pole. The impact destroyed the pole, and the car continued to roll coming to a stop right-side up.
The driver of the vehicle was trapped in the wreckage. Firefighters had to use hydraulic tools to remove him from the wreckage.
Due to his injuries, a helicopter was called but was unable to fly due to weather. The man was transported by EMS to FirstHealth Moore Regional. His condition is unknown at this time.
N.C. State Highway Patrol was on the scene and is investigating the cause of the accident.
Rockwell Towing removed the wreckage from the scene.
Responding to the scene were Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and N.C. State Highway Patrol.
