The Town of Southern Pines announced it had a discharge of untreated wastewater on Monday, December 13 of an estimated 2,600 gallons at the intersection of W. Connecticut Ave. and N. Mechanic St. The untreated wastewater was discharged into McDeeds Creek.
The Town Utilities Division was notified of the event at approximately 3:15 p.m. All efforts to mitigatewastewater release were taken. Repairs were completed and system returned to service at approximately 5:30 p.m., and cleanup/sanitizing efforts were conducted.
