UPDATE: “The Southern Pines Police Department regrets to inform the community that Mr. Christopher Coles was found deceased in a wooded area during search efforts this afternoon,” said the department on its Facebook page. “We ask you keep his wife, family and friends in your prayers as they navigate through this terrible time. The police department thanks all of the first responders and volunteers who helped look for Christopher. Out of respect for Christopher’s family, no further details will be released at this time regarding this investigation.”
The Southern Pines Police Department is currently searching for a missing person.
Christopher Coles is 28 years old, 6’1” tall, weighs 195 pounds, and has brown hair and a brown beard. He was last seen wearing a dark gray “rugby” shirt and gray shorts in the area of S. Ashe Street, said the police department on social media on Wednesday, Sept. 18.
