Straight from Virginia, the entertaining and energetic swing band, Good Shot Judy will take the stage at the Sunrise on Thursday, October 17 at 7pm.  The band performs hits from the swinging sounds of Sinatra, contemporaries like Harry Connick Jr., the beautiful ballads of Billie Holiday, and the high energy Latin Dance big band sound. Good Shot Judy adds their unique twist with plenty of swing and swagger to each tune.

VIP and reserved tickets are available online at SunriseTheater.com, at the Sunrise office, or by calling 692-3611.  The event is sponsored by Menendez & Ritter Retirement Group of Wells Fargo Advisors.

Born out of the idea that jazz music didn’t have to be performed as background or “museum music,” Good Shot Judy was created by brothers Brett and Jeff Cahoon in early 2013.  Initially, they performed as a jazz trio with Brett on piano and vocals, Jeff on upright bass, and friend Mike Smith on drums.  As the group grew and changed adding drummer Buz King, and saxophonists Brandon Musko, and Art Martin to the full-time lineup, the repertoire also changed exponentially.

“We went from performing mostly Sinatra and jazz ballads to really focusing on keeping people entertained and dancing. Upbeat swing, mambo, cha-cha, rockabilly, calypso, and even some rock music adapted in a way that fits our sound all have become part of the mix,” said Bandleader Brett Cahoon.  “We’re all about delivering a performance that is more than a collection of songs.  We want it to be a highly entertaining show that is enjoyed by anyone, regardless of whether they’re a huge fan of jazz and swing or not.”

Good Shot Judy’s song list includes The Way You Look Tonight, Come Fly With Me, Stray Cat Strut, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Beyond the Sea, Sway, Ain’t That a Kick in the Head, Mambo Italiano, I Want to be Like You, and more!
