Vikings drop dual against Wildcats

Union Pines High School announced the resignation of head football coach Jason Trousdale, effective Nov. 3.

Trousdale served as defensive coordinator for two years before taking on the role of head coach in 2021. During his tenure with Union Pines, Trousdale infused the football program with dynamic energy and guided it toward a positive trajectory, said the school district in a press release.

“I am thankful for the opportunity and look forward to the next chapter in my life,” said Trousdale. “The support from the administration, staff, and community has been outstanding, and my family and I will be forever thankful.”

“Union Pines is thankful for his significant contributions and wishes him success in his future endeavors,” said the high school.

The Union Pines will immediately begin the search for the next head football coach.
