A man was arrested Wednesday night after reportedly leading Moore County deputies on a chase that ended in a crash.
Records from the Moore County Detention Center show Lo-ren Ellis, 46, of Aberdeen, is facing a total of twelve charges following the pursuit.
The chase began around 7:30 p.m. on N.C. Highway 73 near U.S. Highway 15-501 in the Eastwood community when a deputy attempted a traffic stop. Instead of stopping, Ellis allegedly sped away, resulting in a pursuit.
The chase continued until the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Ellis then fled on foot, crossed a creek, and ran into a wooded area before being taken into custody within minutes.
Ellis is facing the following charges:
Possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine
Possession of Schedule II controlled substance
Possession of firearm by felon
Flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle
Speeding
Fictitious or altered title, registration card or tag
Reckless driving, wanton disregard
Resisting a public officer
Communicating threats
Failure to stop at stop sign/flashing red light
Failure to stop at steady red light
Assault by pointing a gun
