An Aberdeen man faces an additional felony drug charge after laboratory testing confirmed a substance found in his possession earlier this year was methamphetamine, according to the Aberdeen Police Department.
William Arnold, 43, was arrested April 26 on outstanding warrants for felony possession of fentanyl and felony possession of heroin.
During a search before his transfer to the Moore County Jail, officers found a plastic bag containing a white, crystal-like substance in his pocket. The substance was sent to the State Crime Lab for testing.
On Sept. 15, police received laboratory results confirming the substance was methamphetamine. Officers obtained additional warrants charging Arnold with felony possession of methamphetamine.
After attempts to locate Arnold, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office found him Sept. 29 and took him before a Moore County magistrate.
Arnold was held without bond due to conditions of his pretrial release.
All charges are allegations, and Arnold is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
