Albermarle man arrested for stealing $1,000 worth of electronics from Walmart

Forty-year-old Mark Weston of Albermarle was arrested for allegedly stealing over $1,000 worth of electronics from Walmart in Aberdeen.

Aberdeen Police Chief Brian Chavis announced in a Monday news advisory that his department was called to Walmart on Dec. 29 about a theft that previously occurred.

“Upon arrival, officers spoke with asset protection and began investigating the claims,” said Chavis. “After reviewing video surveillance and obtaining witness statements, officers were able to confirm Weston entered the store and stole over $1,000 worth of electronics, without making any attempt to pay for the items. Warrants were obtained on Weston for Felony Larceny and Felony Possession of Stolen Property.”

Weston was apprehended in Stanly County on Dec. 30, where a magistrate gave him a $5,000 secured bond.
