The Aberdeen Police Department announced the arrest of Mikal Troy, 21, of Aberdeen.
On June 6, officers with the Aberdeen Police Department were patrolling a local apartment complex when they located a vehicle containing multiple occupants suspected of drug activity, said the police department in a news advisory.
Upon further investigation, three adults and one juvenile were identified, one of which was Troy.
Officers determined Troy had outstanding warrants from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office for communicating threats and trespassing, as well as outstanding failure to appear warrants for possession of firearm by felon, carrying a concealed gun, possession of marijuana, and attempted breaking or entering a building.
After Troy was detained, officers located suspected marijuana on Troy, as well as inside the vehicle, said the police department. Troy was charged with felony possession of marijuana, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, and three counts of resisting a public officer.
Troy was taken before a Moore County magistrate and was remanded to the Moore County Detention Center under a $15,000 bond for his new charges. He was also given a $4,000 bond for his charges out of Moore County and a $25,000 bond for failing to appear.
All defendants facing criminal charges are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
