Carthage man apprehended for warrants, parole violation

Twenty-eight-year-old Kane Avonce, of Carthage, was apprehended on Aug. 5 for outstanding warrants and parole violation.

Aberdeen Police Department received a report on July 30 that a larceny occurred at a business on Highway 1 and Magnolia Drive.

“Aberdeen Police Officers responded to the business and spoke with witnesses and reviewed video surveillance,” said Aberdeen Police Chief Brian Chavis in a press release. “Upon further investigation, the suspect was identified as Avonce. It was determined that Avonce had outstanding warrants from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office for Felony larceny, and was absconder from NC Probation and Parole. Warrants were obtained on Avonce for Felony habitual larceny and Misdemeanor larceny and attempts were made to locate him within Aberdeen.”

The Moore County Sheriff’s Department located and arrested Avonce, who was placed at the Moore County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond.
