Moore County Government continues to monitor the progress of COVID-19 in North Carolina and is continuing to adjust preparedness and response plans to meet the evolving needs of the community.

As 5 p.m. Thursday, March 19, there are two confirmed presumptive positive cases of COVID-19 in Moore County.

Testing availability remains limited and is only available to those individuals that meet specific criteria outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and the NC Department of Health and Human Services.

The Moore County Health Department will report confirmed presumptive positive cases to the public; however, no patient data will be shared.

These activity and facility closures are effective beginning 5 p.m.Thursday, March 19 through Friday, April 3 unless otherwise stated. Additional scheduling changes may be forthcoming in these departments and throughout county government as this situation evolves.

Citizens visiting facilities that remain open are encouraged to continue following infection prevention guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

All county departments continue to be staffed during normal business hours and citizens may contact them at the numbers provided below. Citizens are encouraged to continue to conduct business with the county to the extent possible via on-line, phone or by appointments.

The following buildings have been closed to the public:

Aging (Senior Enrichment Center 15/501, Westmoore Center highway 705); Agriculture Center (Cooperative Extension, Soil and Water and Veterans Services); Ayers Building (Human Resources, Park and Recreations Offices); Board of Elections; Carriage Oaks ( Environmental Health, Planning, Permitting, Building Inspections); Central Services ( Finance and Information Technology); Historical Courthouse (County Administration, Legal, Clerk to the Board, Tax Department); Hillcrest Park , All branches of the Libraries (Aberdeen, Carthage, Pinebluff, Vass, Robbins and Bookmobile); Property Management; Public Works.

The following departments will have limited access and by appointments only: Department of Social Services, Child Support, Youth Services, Health Department, Register of Deeds Office, Sheriff’s Office.

Moore County Transportation Services will only operate for regular scheduled medical patient transports.
Moore County Convenience Centers continue to operate a regular schedule and are open to the public.
