According to EMS Chief Grant Hunsucker, the EMS unit was not carrying a patient and was not responding to a call at the time of the accident.

Seven Lakes Fire Chief Chris King was on the scene.

“I have expressed great concern for a four-way stop sign at this intersection, and we have even had a petition signed,” said King. “The last accident at this location two weeks ago resulted in a fatality. We need a four-way stop.”

The exact cause of the accident is under investigation by the State Highway Patrol.

Responding to the scene were Seven Lakes Fire and Rescue, Westend Fire and Rescue, Moore County EMS, UNC Air Care, Moore County Sheriff’s Department, N.C. Highway Patrol, Moore County Public Safety, and Rockwell Towing.
