On August 10, 2017, Moore County Sheriff’s Department stopped a vehicle for speeding in Robbins.

When the deputies approached the vehicle, they detected an odor of marijuana coming from the car, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Department.  The deputies searched Traquan Marquis Jones’, age 20, vehicle and seized 20 grams of marijuana, 48 dosage units of Xanax, an AR-15 assault-rifle, and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Jones, who lives in the 200 block of Savannah Garden Drive in Carthage, was charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession with the intent to sell and deliver a schedule IV controlled-substance, the felony maintaining of a vehicle for the storage of a controlled-substance, possession of marijuana – half an ounce to 11.5 ounces, simple possession of a schedule IV controlled-substance, and the possession of drug paraphernalia.  

Jones was given a $25,000 unsecured bond and has an August 22, 2017, district court date, according to arrest records.
