County hears police proposal for all schools

There is an extra presence of police at Pinecrest High School on Wednesday after a student allegedly made threatening posts on social media, according to Moore County Schools.

The following message was distributed to students, parents and staff Wednesday morning, according to Moore County Schools Director for Communications Catherine Murphy.

“Pinecrest High School and Moore County Schools Police are currently investigating several posts by a student on SnapChat that are threatening in nature. MCS Police will have extra presence on campus today as well. There does not appear to be an imminent threat to students or staff.”

Murphy said, “We cannot comment further because this is an ongoing investigation.”

This is a developing story, and more information will be provided when it becomes available.
