Family of 8 displaced after Robbins house fire

A family of two adults and six children are without a home after a house fire in Robbins Wednesday evening. The fire started before 7 p.m. in the 600 block of Maness Road. According to radio traffic, the house was nearly 50 percent engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.

The family got out of the house without incident, however, one of the dogs died.

The fire destroyed the home with heavy fire and water damage. It is believed the fire started in the kitchen, according to officials. It is unclear how the blaze started, and it is being investigated by the Moore County Fire Marshal. 

Robbins Fire and Rescue, along with Highfalls Fire and Rescue and Westmoore Fire and Rescue, were able to get the fire out quickly.

Robbins remained on the scene for some time while the investigation began. Moore County EMS and Moore County Sheriff’s Office were also on the scene to assist. The American Red Cross was called in to assist the family.
