Three local men were arrested in connection with a woman’s fatal overdose that occurred on July 10, according to a news release issued on Monday from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.

Moore County Sheriff’s Deputies found Ashton Taylor Potter, 23, of Cameron deceased at a home on Red Hill Road. Potter’s cause of death was unknown at the time pending an autopsy report.

An investigation led to the arrest of a man and woman two months later who authorities said were present at the time of Potter’s death. Detectives arrested Jeremy Justin Holder, of Sanford, and Heather Lynn Chastain, of Cameron, for failing to notify law enforcement of the death.

Heather Lynn Chastain and Jeremy Justin Holder were arrested in September for concealment of Potter’s death

Potter’s autopsy in November revealed her death was “caused by acute fentanyl and alcohol intoxication.” According to Moore County Sheriff’s Office, “Fentanyl is 50 times more potent than heroin and 100 times more potent than morphine.”

Authorities continued their investigation which led them to arrest three men in connection with the sell and deliver of Fentanyl that caused Potter’s death.
