An Aberdeen woman was arrested on drug charges during a joint law enforcement operation targeting probation and parole compliance across Moore County, according to the Aberdeen Police Department.
Police said officers assisted Moore County Probation and Parole on April 16 as part of an operation involving searches of residences tied to individuals on probation or parole.
During the operation, Aberdeen officers responded to the AmeriVu Inn & Suites, where Jamie Vest, 29, of Aberdeen, was documented as residing, authorities said. Officers conducted a search of the room in accordance with the conditions of Vest’s probation and parole status.
According to police, officers located a glass pipe containing suspected drug residue, syringes with residue, and a glass jar containing a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine.
Authorities said additional investigation later confirmed the substance was methamphetamine, and Vest was taken into custody.
Vest was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. She appeared before a Moore County magistrate and was given a $7,500 secured bond.
In addition, Moore County Probation charged Vest with two counts of felony probation violation and one count of parole violation, resulting in an additional $25,000 secured bond.
All charges are allegations, and Vest is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
