One person was transported to the hospital for evaluation after a vehicle crash Monday morning at the intersection of Lobelia Road (N.C. 690) and McGill Road near Vass. The crash was reported at 8:36 a.m. and resulted in delays to early morning traffic.
According to the Crains Creek Fire Department, when crews arrived, both drivers were out of their vehicles and walking around with minor injuries.
Fire officials said a van involved in the crash appeared to have been pulling a trailer carrying a ditcher. The impact caused the van’s rear bumper to break loose, and the vehicle rolled before coming to rest upright.
Both vehicles ran over road signs, and debris littered the crash site.
The cause of the collision was not released.
Responding agencies included Crains Creek Fire and Rescue, Moore County EMS, N.C. State Highway Patrol, and the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.
