Eddie Ruth Spruill, age 80, passed away on June 4, 2019 at Peak Resources in Carthage with her family by her side.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Cox Memorial Funeral Home from 6 until 8.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 7, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Vass with Pastor John Brown officiating. A burial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.
Ruth was born in Columbus, Georgia on December 23, 1938 to Lemuel Hewitt and Susie Flournoy Miller. She devoted her life as a caring homemaker and was especially devoted to her sweet grandchildren. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her children, James R. Spruill, Jr. (Laurel), Martha Spruill Smith (Ronald) both of Cameron; grandchildren, Kelly, Ryan, Todd, Robert and Steven; great-grandchildren, Sage and Ayden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Sue Humphries, June Adderhold and Nancy Rodgers; a brother, Lemuel Hewitt.
