Francis Irving Boss of Pinehurst (born in Richmond, VA), 80, passed to his heavenly home, Friday, August 24, 2018. Irv was a fun, caring and kind soul who never met a stranger. Irv retired from the Medical College of Virginia Hospital, as supervisor of medical supplies, after 25 years. He and wife, Vickie, then moved to High Point, NC, where he worked at High Point Regional Hospital for 5 years. Upon moving to Pinehurst, Irv worked at Pinelawn Memorial Park as groundskeeper.
Irv is survived by his wife of 40 years, Vickie Williford Boss, sister Bobbie Rose, High Point, NC, sister Sally Boss Cline (Paul) and beloved cousin, Elsie Mae Benson (Bill), Richmond, VA; his mother-in-law, Mrs. James Williford, Sr. and brothers-in-law James Williford II (Michele) and Gary Williford (Laura), all of Pinehurst, NC.
Nieces and nephews: Melinda Boss Fisher (Stewart), Clay Boss (Julia), Steven Boss (Alex), Craig Rose (Trish), Randy Rose (Margaret), Jody Rose Howell (Greg), Bonnie Cline Haney (Tom) and Sky Cline (Mahina); Anna Williford and Brian Williford; also, many great nieces and nephews, each one very special to their Uncle Irv.
Predeceased by his parents Robert Schuyler Boss and Maude Thomas Boss; brother, Robert S. Boss, Jr. (“Oakie”).
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 27, 2018 from 11:30AM -1:00PM at Boles Funeral Home in Pinehurst- 35 Parker Lane. A service will follow at 1:00PM. Entombment Pinelawn Memorial Park.
As Irving would say, “May the Father bless you today.”
