Jeffrey “Scott” Allen, age 57 of Pinebluff passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at his home in Pinebluff.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethesda Presbyterian Church in Aberdeen with Rev. David L. Hudson officiating.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 8, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines.

Scott was born on October 16, 1961 in Moore County, NC to the late Robert Edgar Allen Sr. and Helen Short Allen.  He was very involved with both Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts from many years and served as a Scout Master. Scott was a recipient of the Order of the Arrow which he was very proud of. He served for many years as a youth director at Bethesda Presbyterian. For many years, Scott worked in the construction industry in Moore County where he was a designer of commercial cabinetry. He volunteered for many years with the Pinebluff Fire Department and the many events that were associated with the departments and it’s members. Scott was a very caring man and when he helped others, he involved his entire family in helping others. He would help anybody he could in any way. Many will remember Scott’s face from his time at Sizzlin’ Steak or Eggs where he worked when he was younger and then became a regular customer. Despite Scott battling many chronic health problems, he participated in the efforts of many charitable organizations as he was able to do so.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lee Ann Allen of Pinebluff, NC; two sons: Jeremy Allen of The Netherlands and Matthew Allen of Hickory, NC. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Lucia and Nico Allen of The Netherlands; a brother, David Allen of Murrells Inlet, SC; a sister, Brenda Ransom and husband Chris of Zebulon, NC and a host of extended family to include aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Robert “Eddie” Allen, Jr. and wife Charm Allen.
