Paul Duwayne Simpson, age 65, of Vass, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church with Dr. Curtis Barbery and Dr. Greg Poplin officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church from 1 until 3 and other times at the home of his father and mother, Earl and Sue Simpson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Paul was born in Pinehurst, North Carolina on May 6, 1958 to Earl Franklin Simpson and Ethel “Sue” Simpson.
He was an avid outdoorsman which including hunting and fishing. Paul’s passion was spending time with his family. He was a loving son, husband, father, uncle, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 34 years, Leanne Talbert Simpson; daughters, Shannon Smith (Brandon) of Vass, Audrey Burns (Hunter) of Washington State; son, Chad Simpson of Vass; grandchildren, Bristol Smith, Charlotte Smith; niece, Kelly Haddock (Ben) of Vass.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth “Betsy” Simpson Spruill.
