Kathryn Scott Carson Stagaard, 93 of Southern Pines passed on Thursday, March 1st 2018 at the FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Stagaard was born May 16th 1924 in Plainfield, NJ to the late Walter and Mabel (Scott) Carson. She was a loving mother, grandmother and was known as “great nanny” to her great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Stagaard was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years in 2008, Bert “Pop” Stagaard. Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Margaret Bottcher and Ruth Betts.
She is survived by her two sons, Alan Stagaard and wife Gail of Carthage and Donald Stagaard and wife Tracey of Basking Ridge, NJ; a daughter, Karyn Marshall of Pinehurst; seven grandchildren, Sandi, Erin, Jennifer, Jeff, JD, Kendal, and Amanda; six great-grandchildren, Megan Maddyn, Cora, Cassidy, Landon, and Scottie.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in memory of Mrs. Stagaard to FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care at 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374
