The Pinecrest Varsity Baseball team won the first round of the Sandhills Athletic 4A Conference Tournament last night with a 24-0 win against Seventy-First High School at John Williams Stadium. The game was a mismatch from the start as the 1st seed Patriots faced the 8th seed Falcons who showed good sportsmanship and determination their entire season despite not winning a game.

The Patriots next play Scotland County in the semifinal game tonight at home beginning at 7 pm. Expected to be on the mound tonight for Pinecrest will be Senior, Nik Pry. Nik is looking to finish a great high school career before playing baseball for UNC next spring.
Also advancing to the semifinals with wins last night were Jack Britt and Purnell Sweet.
