A man from Pinebluff is behind bars under a $350,000 secured bond charged with multiple sex crimes involving children.
A multi-agency investigation led to the arrest of Anthony Dimattia, 19, according to a news advisory from the Moore County Sheriff’s Department.
The sheriff’s department was notified on Jan. 8 of a “sexual assault involving a juvenile that occurred in the Aberdeen and Pinebluff area.”
“The Moore County Sheriff’s Office, along with Aberdeen Police Department and the Moore County District Attorney’s Office, conducted a serious and complex investigation that included both forensic and digital evidence examination and analysis,” said the news release. “This investigation also led to the discovery of an additional victim in the case. In May 2021, probable cause was established which enabled the department to make an arrest.”
Dimattia was charged with six counts of incident liberties with a child, one count of statutory rape of child under fifteen, and one count of statutory sex offense of a child under fifteen, and four counts of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
The suspect has a June 9 court date and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
