Shooting in Southern Pines leaves one injured

A shooting in Southern Pines left a man injured Sunday evening. The shooting occurred on Haines Court around 6 p.m.

When emergency crews arrived on the scene, they found a man in his 30s with two gunshot wounds to his lower extremities. EMS transported him to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.

According to Southern Pines Deputy Chief Charles Campbell, this was not a random act of violence. He also said the victim’s injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
