Aberdeen Wingstop to open in October

Excitement around Moore County is building for one of the fastest-growing restaurants in the country, which will soon open in Aberdeen next to Harris Teeter. Wingstop will be in the Center Park Shopping Center at 11109 Highway 15-501 and will open in late October. Once the sign was installed on the 2,500-square-foot space a few weeks ago, it didn’t take long for residents to take to social media with excitement.

The newest Wingstop location will be one of 43 in North Carolina. The two closest are Asheboro and Fayetteville, with one also set to open soon in Sanford. The Texas-based company has grown by 500 locations in two years to have just under 2,000 locations in the U.S.

Influencers have created taste-test videos, making the restaurant more popular for its bold and exciting flavors over the past few years. Several videos have gone viral on social media.

The chain has gained fame for its cooked-to-order traditional and boneless chicken wings, crispy tenders, and chicken sandwiches. Their fried wings are hand-sauced with your choice of 12 bold and distinctive flavors.

“We believe that everyone should have a chance to try our 12 signature flavors that put Wingstop in a category of one. We’re excited to see Wingstop become a favorite, go-to spot for flavor in the Southern Pines community,” said a Wingstop spokesperson.

Popular flavors include Atomic, Mango Habanero, Cajun, Hot, Hot Honey Rub, Louisiana Rub, Spicy Korean Q, Hickory Smoked BBQ, Mild, Lemon Pepper, Garlic Parm, and Hawaiian. They also offer a variety of sides, including hand-cut, seasoned fries and made from scratch ranch dressing.

According to the company’s spokesperson, it has not been decided whether the Aberdeen location will serve alcohol.

Sizzling Platter, based in Utah, is a franchisee that owns over 150 Wingstop locations. They also own and operate big-named restaurants like Little Caesars, Jamba, Dunkin’, Jersey Mike’s Sizzler, Red Robin and Cinnabon. With restaurants nationwide and 10 Wingstop locations in N.C., this will be the company’s first Moore County restaurant.

This location will offer dine-in, carryout, or delivery. You can order delivery on apps like DoorDash, UBEREATS, and Grubhub or online at the Wingstop app or website.
